World Bank to Fund Chinese Wind Energy Project

May 21, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The World Bank’s Beijing Office recently granted a loan of US$13 million to fund Shanghai’s first wind power project. Investment in the 20,000 kW wind power plant will total US$23.19 million, and will be built jointly by Shanghai Power, State Power Corp. and Shanghai Electric Industry Company.
