Pennsylvania, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Windurance has received ISO 9001 certification based on the quality of its management system from Bureau Veritas, a third party auditing firm. Windurance has been engineering and manufacturing blade pitch control systems for utility scale wind turbines since 2000.
Windurance offers a full line of blade pitch control systems and their modular blade pitch product platforms include the “i-pitch” (for utility scale turbines), “mini-pitch” (for smaller scale turbines) and the DC pitch system, which is the company’s original and well-established platform.
Today, more than 1,800 megawatts (MW) of wind power installations are using Windurance pitch systems in Europe, Asia and North America. ISO 9001 is an international standard related to management systems, applicable to any organization from all types of business sectors and activities. It is based on the process approach toward customer focus, leadership, and continual improvement.
“Having the ISO 9001 certification ensures our processes are effectively and efficiently meeting the established goals,” said Tracy D. Sandell, Director of Quality Services. “It allows us to measure our progress towards continual improvement of business performance in an ever-changing business environment,” she adds.
