Wind Turbine Manufacturers Battle for Sales

Several wind turbine manufacturers in Denmark are battling for a major order worth one billion Kroner.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, DK, 2001-10-15 [] The Danish energy company, Energi E2, is extending a new windfarm off Lolland, and will choose a bid that is not necessarily the lowest price. Production time and operating costs are factors in the bid assessments. The new turbine park will be completed in 2003 and will be owned 50 percent by Energi E2, 30 percent by DONG, the state-owned energy group in Denmark, and 20 percent by Sydkraft, the Swedish energy company. The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas won the supply order for the first turbine park this year, That facility was set up by Elsam, the Danish electricity utility.
