Calgary, Alberta [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Nexen Inc. and GW Power Corporation official opened their $113 million Soderglen Wind Farm located southwest of Fort Macleod, Alberta. The 70.5-megawatt (MW) wind power project, a 50-50 joint venture, which began producing electricity in early September, consists of 47 wind towers, each with a 1.5-MW turbine. The Government of Canada will invest more than $20 million over ten years in this windfarm through the Wind Power Production Incentive program.
