Wind Power Marketer Crosses 2 Billion kWh Mark

May 4, 2004 [] Community Energy, Inc. (CEI) announced their wind energy sales have now exceeded two billion kilowatt-hours (kWh). CEI said that its annual rate of wind purchases has reached 350 million kWh per year, and continues to expand. Customers responsible for this milestone span across 15 states and include more than 20,000 residences and small businesses, 50 colleges and universities, over 40 federal, state and local governments, and six Fortune 500 companies. CEI markets power from most of the wind farms in the mid-Atlantic and New York. Marketing under the NewWind Energy brand, CEI partners with utility suppliers like Exelon, NYSEG, Pepco Energy Services, and Washington Gas Energy Services to offer a wind energy choice directly to retail electric customers.
