Wind Power Developer Meets 2010 Goals

[] Greenwind Power of Canada set itself a goal of developing 600 MW of renewable energy production projects by the end of 2010, and recent leases signed by the company could take care of 560 MW of that. The leases are connected to five distinct projects in South Western Alberta. Combined with the company’s existing project interests in south central Alberta of 120 MW and the development initiative of 50 MW to 100 MW in China at the Daishan Island project, Greenwind has now defined and secured the necessary development rights for its targeted development objectives for 2010. Over the course of the next six months, Greenwind will work to secure preliminary project development designs, wind data assessments and the necessary approvals of the Alberta Electrical Systems Operator (AESO) and the Electrical Utilities Board of Alberta (EUB).
