Wind Power Company Eyes Lake Huron for Project

Port Huron, Michigan [The Huron Daily Tribune] Just who and how many companies are researching the Thumb area as a site for possible wind energy projects remains unclear. … Companies submitted proposals of different wind projects as part of a MISO study researching the electrical system’s carrying capacity, so as not to overload the system which causes black outs. …One of the two known companies, Noble Environmental Power, already has plans in the works to erect seven wind turbines by the end of this year. The second, Midland Energy, confirmed Thursday it is exploring wind energy projects in Huron County. … Noble originally planned to erect 32 wind turbines, but recently put those plans on hold due to the limbo developers currently are in until the study is completed.
