Wind Industry Holds National RPS Workshops

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The American Wind Energy Association’s (AWEA) National Workshop on Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards (RPS) takes place next week, March 7-8, Holiday Inn at Chicago City Center, Chicago, Illinois. The Keynote speaker will be Lt. Governor Pat Quinn, Office of the Lieutenant Governor, State of Illinois. The state recently adopted an RPS requiring that 8% of the state’s electricity be generated from renewable energy sources by 2013. The AWEA RPS Workshop will provide attendees with a solid understanding of the legislative, regulatory, and business issues faced in the design and implementation of RPS policies. The workshop is intended to educate stakeholders on how to design an effective RPS and better understand the business and policy impacts of a state RPS.
