Wind Farm Planned on River Mersey

[] The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company of Liverpool, UK, submitted planning applications to build five wind turbines along the River Mersey by 4Q 2006. Plans call for three turbines to be located in Sefton and two in Liverpool, spaced two km apart. The turbines would be 90 meters tall with 45 meter-long blades and will require approval of funding for more than 21 million dollars. Each one would be able to produce up to 3 MW of electricity, which will be sold to a supplier serving local communities.
