Wind Development Whips up in Wisconsin

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Wisconsin-based We Energies announced an agreement to purchase the development rights for two, 80-megawatt wind farm projects from Navitas Energy Inc., a wind development company. The agreement was signed by both companies on June 14, 2005. The necessary applications will likely be filed this year, and it is expected that the projects will be on-line in 2007, pending regulatory approval. The Navitas purchase includes the engineering, leases and permits for the two wind farms, located in the towns of Calumet and Marshfield, in northeast Fond du Lac County. The two projects are named Blue Sky Wind Farm and Green Field Wind Farm. The development rights for a third site named Lake Breeze Wind Farm were also purchased from Navitas. The Lake Breeze Wind Farm is located in the town of Taycheedah, in Fond du Lac County. Currently, there are no development plans for this site.
