U.S. Senators Call for Increased use of Renewable Energy

2002-02-28 [SolarAccess.com] Senators and energy industry officials said Tuesday legislation going before the Senate should include provisions for increasing the use of Renewable Energy sources, such as solar and wind power. Sen. Jim Jeffords, I-VT, wants the nation to obtain 20 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
