The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to replace two turbine runners at the 80-MW Denison Dam hydroelectric project in Texas. Bids now are due Jan. 9.
The Corps’ Tulsa District previously called for bids for the work by Dec. 4. A site visit was scheduled Oct. 29.
Denison Dam forms Texoma Lake on the Red River in Texas. The Tulsa District took bids in 2011 for events recording and warning equipment at Denison and seven other hydroelectric projects in Oklahoma and Texas.
The Corps now seeks major rehabilitation of Units 1 and 2 at Denison including design, manufacture, testing, and installation of two Francis turbine runners; replacement of miscellaneous turbine mechanical components; turbine model testing; and other work. The contract is valued at $20 million to $30 million.
