PRESCOTT VALLEY, Arizona, US, 2001-08-20 [SolarAccess.com] A U.S. flag is flying above a factory in China where advanced wind turbines will be made for the global residential market by a new joint venture. AEROMAG Corp. has formed a joint venture called Qingdao AEROMAG Wind Energy Equipment Works in Shangdong Province, to manufacture turbines for sale around the world. The joint venture initially will manufacture the company’s LAKOTA turbine, but several larger residential wind generators will be manufactured soon. The workmanship at the Qingdao factory “is of the highest order and we believe our customers will be very satisfied with the products we manufacture,” says AEROMAG president Lexington Bartlett. “The Joint Venture formation is a great opportunity and will provide employment for their skilled labor force while the country is making a transition to a more market-oriented economy.” Last month, AEROMAG raised the U.S. flag at the Qingdao facility, which is flanked by the flag of the Peoples Republic of China and the EROMAG ‘Revolution in the Wind’ joint venture flag. The three flags were part of an initiative from the city government in Qingdao, Jiaozhou, which wanted recognition of the international collaboration and the city’s enthusiasm for the manufacturing effort. The local government has been instrumental in providing communications, transportation and logistics for setting up the factory. “Chinese leaders are anxious to continue to industrialize and to reduce pollution at the same time,” adds Bartlett. “The joint venture company is pointing the way to help provide some of the much needed and cleaner electrical energy.”Joint Venture to Manufacture Wind Turbines
