Andino wins turbine contract for 4.19-MW Belfiore small hydro project

Andino Hydropower Engineering Sarl has been awarded a US$10.3 million contract to supply and install electro-mechanical equipment at the Belfiore small hydropower project.

The 4.19 MW plant would be built below the 20-MW Zevio project on SAVA Canal on the Adige River. Other hydro projects on the Adige include 32-MW Tel, 1.23-MW Chievo, 87-MW Castelbello, and 105-MW Glorenza..

Azienda Generale Sevizi Municipali di Verona SpA (AGSM) solicited bids for the work this past October.

Per the contract, Andino will supply three Kaplan turbine generators designed for flows of 10 to 50 cms and net heads of 2.3 to 4.7 meters. The work is expected to take 15 months.
