Acciona Signs Wind Deal With EDP

Acciona Windpower and EDP Renovaveis have signed a wind turbine supply deal for up to 782 megawatts (MW) of capacity over the next three years. The contract specifies the supply of 382.5 MW for the period covering 2009-2011 and could be extended by a further 400 MW under the terms of the agreement.

The 1.5-MW wind turbines are slated to be installed in wind parks in North America and Europe, Acciona said in a statement.

The contract, in addition to the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of the wind turbines, allows for flexibility when choosing the turbine model and class by EDP Renováveis, an EDP group company that carries out wind power development projects through its subsidiary NEO.
