Turbine Manufacturer Grows in 2002

March 12, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] In 2002, Danish wind turbine blade manufacturer LM Glasfiber delivered 7,237 blades, which help produce 2,705 MW of power, retaining a market share of about 40 percent, according to a financial report released by the company. The trend toward larger wind turbines and larger blades became more evident in 2002, with strong growth in the 1.5 MW segment. The company has developed a 54-meter, 13 ton blade, which will launch this year. A 61.5-meter blade for 5 MW turbines is also in development.
