Suzlon Submits Offer for REpower

Hamburg, Germany [RenewbaleEnergyAccess.com] Suzlon Windenergie GmbH delivered the offer document regarding the acquisition of the shares of REpower Systems AG, to follow up on its earlier counteroffer to the takeover bid from French AREVA S.A. As the offer is now available, a meeting between Suzlon’s chairman Tulsi Tanti and REpower?s board of directors in Hamburg is scheduled for March 2, 2007. The offer of Suzlon Windenergie GmbH — a joint venture between the Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy Ltd. and the Portuguese steel and metal building company Martifer — provides a takeover price of Euro 1.02 billion [US$ 1.35 billion].
