Sunflower Selects TradeWind Energy as Wind Energy Provider

Hays, Kansas [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Sunflower Electric Power Corporation will purchase 50.4 megawatts (MW) of wind energy generated by TradeWind Energy’s Kansas-based Smoky Hills Wind Farm in a 20-year renewable energy purchase contract. It is expected construction will be complete and energy available to Sunflower before the end of 2007. In 2006, TradeWind signed a strategic alliance agreement with Enel North America, Inc., and are working to jointly develop wind projects in the Midwest and potentially other regions of the United States.
