Wind energy developer and energy broker TransAlta Corporation has brought their 68 MW, $100 million Summerview wind farm online for commercial operation. The farm is operated by Vision Quest Windelectric and located 200 kilometers southwest of Calgary. There are 38 Vestas V80, 1.8 MW wind turbines at the site. Vision Quest Windelectric is a division of TransAlta, and is Canada’s largest producer of wind energy. The company sells renewable energy certificates to customers in Canada and the United States. TransAlta is among Canada’s largest non-regulated power generation and wholesale marketing companies with coal-fired, gas-fired, hydroelectric and renewable generation assets in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Australia.Summerview Wind Farm Comes Online
