Spanish Wind Co. Provides 124 MW of Turbines

February 24, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Spanish wind energy giant Gamesa and SINAE have signed a contract with a value of more than €77 million (US$98 million). Gamesa will supply SINAE with wind turbines with a total power of 124 MW. The scope of this contract comprises the supply, assembly and start up of 146 G58-850kW wind turbines, which erection in field was started in January 2004. These wind turbines manufactured by Gamesa Eólica will be installed at Portachuelo, Gramal and La Cabana wind sites, located at Lezuza, Albacete. SINAE, whose shareholders are HidroCantábrico and Caja Madrid, develops its activity in the energy diversification and renewable energy areas. Inside this field of action, wind power represents together with the wind farm promotion, building and operation, one of the biggest company commitments. The objective is to have more than new 600 MW coming from this source of energy in the following three years.
