Sounds Great, er, Check That

An article on EyeForEnergy.com starts off with a jab at America while painting a rosy picture about the European Union’s Energy Policy. The story begins, “EU Energy Commissioner Loyola de Palacio said Wednesday that the cornerstone of the European Union’s long-term energy policy will be reducing consumption rather than increasing supply, as the United States has signaled it intends to do.” True, the Bush administration never saw an oil rig it didn’t like. But, wait, the EU isn’t as progressive as it sounds. De Palacio’s solution? “Renewable” nukes as well as wind power, which actually is a Renewable Energy source. Fifty percent good still is fifty percent bad, and with nukes it’s twice as bad from where I sit.
