Silicon Valley Power Buys 50% More Renewable Energy

Santa Clara, California [] Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is growing its eligible renewable energy by 50 percent with two new wind power contracts. SVP recently signed a new power purchase agreement (PPA) with Seawest LLC, a privately owned wind generation operating and development company based in San Diego, California. The arrangement follows closely on the heels of large contract with PPM Energy’s Big Horn Project in Washington State, in which SVP began taking delivery of wind energy October 1, 2006. Both contracts will push SVP to 34 percent renewable for next year.
