REpower to Deliver 75 2-MW Wind Turbines to enXco’s Shiloh II

REpower Systems AG agreed to deliver 75 wind turbines to project developer enXco of the MM92-class (corresponding to a total capacity of 150 megawatts) for the Shiloh II wind farm project in California.

The delivery of these 2-megawatt (MW) turbines with a rotor diameter of 92 meters is scheduled for 2008 to a wind farm due to be established approximately 140 kilometers northeast of San Francisco, California. 19 out of 75 turbines arise from an option arrangement previously negotiated between enXco and REpower in 2006. “The project ‘Shiloh II’ is a further milestone to extend our position in the world’s most important wind energy market, the USA,” said Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt, CEO of REpower Systems AG. During the past months, the REpower development center in Rendsburg (Schleswig- Holstein, Germany) had devised a 60 Hz version of the MM92 that complies with the requirements of the American electricity network. REpower intends to set up the branch office REpower USA Corp. in Portland, Oregon, which will be in charge of sales, service and project management issues.
