REpower Receives 30 MW Order for Wind Energy in Scotland

REpower Systems AG received an order from Airtricity to supply 15 wind turbines type MM82 (equal to a total capacity of 30 MW) to Scotland. The total order volume for the project amounts to around Euro 30 million [US $40 million].

The wind farm at Dalswinton is the third wind farm to be constructed by Airtricity in Scotland. The order will be conducted by REpower UK Ltd, based in Edinburgh. Construction of the wind farm Dalswinton is scheduled to begin this week. The wind turbines are expected to be put into operation in one year and will supply wind-generated electrical power to about 18,000 homes. REpower Systems AG, manufacturers of both onshore and offshore wind turbines that have outputs ranging from 1.5 to 5 megawatts (MW) and rotor diameters of 70 to 126 meters for almost all locations, designs the high performance turbines at its REpower development center in Rendsburg, and produces them at its manufacturing sites in Husum (North Frisia) and Trampe (Brandenburg). REpower is represented in European markets such as France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal and Spain and in the international markets of Japan, China and Australia through its sales partners, subsidiaries and investments.
