Hamburg, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Enertad, a subsidiary of ERG, has signed a framework agreement with REpower Systems AG for the supply of up to 80 wind turbines. The machines, with a capacity of 2 megawatts (MW) each, will mostly be used on Enertad projects within Italy.
The framework agreement also includes an option for a further 30 turbines, 12 of which may potentially be destined for the French market. The deal, which runs through July 31, 2009, gives Enertad a guaranteed supply for an overall capacity of 160 MW. The option is exercisable until September 2008. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to commence during the summer of 2009 and REpower will complete delivery by the end of 2010.
“REpower is an important partner and we consider this agreement to be strategic in that it gives an even more tangible form to the realisation of our development plans in the wind business in Italy and abroad,” said Raffaele Tognacca, Enertad’s Managing Director.
