Hamburg, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] REpower Systems AG and Italian utility ENEL SpA have signed a contract for the delivery of 42 wind energy turbines with a total capacity of 84 megawatts (MW). The deal is for 42 units of REpower’s MM92 turbine, which has a 2-MW peak output.
The turbines will be used for three projects being developed by ENEL in the Champagne-Ardennes region of France. Delivery of the turbines from REpower is scheduled for the second and third quarter of 2009.
“We very much appreciate ENEL’s decision to develop a mutually sustainable relationship with REpower,“ said Per Horung Pedersen, REpower’s CEO.
