RE Summit to New Mexico

May 9, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The second Annual Iberoamerican Research and Development Summit (AIRDS) will feature former U.S. Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson, New Mexico Lt. Governor Walter Bradley, and Sen. Jeff Bingaman, among others, to discuss Renewable Energy and environmental technologies May 29 and 30 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Bingaman, who serves as the honorary AIRDS 2002 chairman, will focus his keynote address on the relationship of United States’ energy policy to NAFTA and the Free Trade Act of the Americas. Other participants and speakers in this nonpartisan conference include Assistant Secretary of Energy for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy David Garman, Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., and Ambassador Edward Romero, former Ambassador to Spain. Designed to create and sustain partnerships and alliances among participants from the Iberoamerican region, AIRDS is presented by Sandia National Laboratories, the City of Albuquerque, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and MAPA Incorporated.
