PowerWind’s 2.5 MW Turbine Wins First Sale

The 98-metre tall turbine has a rotor diameter of 90 metres and features an innovative gear protection concept along with double main bearings to ensure durability and reliability, says its maker.

“We are proud and very delighted that Germany’s largest developer has decided to purchase the PowerWind 90. This speaks well for the technological concept of our system and honours the commitment of the PowerWind team,” said Hendrik Böschen, PowerWind’s senior sales manager.

A product version of the new turbine will be available next year with a 100-metre rotor diameter designed for moderate wind locations, said PowerWind.
