Post Oak Phase Begins on Lone Star Wind Farm

Austin and Houston, Texas [] Horizon Wind Energy has purchased the second 200-megawatt (MW) phase (Post Oak) of the Lone Star Wind Farm from Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES-Americas), and will proceed on construction of the Post Oak phase in Texas. RES-Americas now has 1,076 MW of wind farms under construction in the U.S. Horizon’s purchase of the project will bring Horizon’s expected net MW ownership over 1300 MW by the end of 2007. The Post Oak project, located adjacent to the first phase of the Lone Star Wind Farm, calls for 100 2.0-MW Gamesa wind turbine generators and has been under development by RES since 2002.
