Philippine Wind Power Kit

The Department of Energy (DOE) on Thursday said the launch of its Wind Power Investment Kit earlier this week yielded encouraging results, with at least seven companies now interested in pursuing wind energy development projects in the Philippines, including the PHINMA Group, which is serious about a 25 MW project in Sual, Pangasinan. The PHINMA Group, otherwise known as the Philippine Investment and Management Corp. of the del Rosario family, is poised to sign a memorandum of understanding with the DOE and various other parties to develop, commercialize, and utilize wind power in Sual, which is already home to one of the country’s largest power plants that is being run by the Mirant Group.
