Outland Signs 200-MW Agreement with Siemens

Outland Renewable Energy, LLC announced that it has signed a reservation agreement with Siemens Power Generation to supply 200 megawatts (MW) of Siemens’ 2.3-megawatt wind turbines.

The turbines are for a greenfield project being developed by Outland in Iowa known as ORE 1 Wind Farm. The first phase of the project is expected to enter commercial operation in 2010.

“Iowa is one of the leading states promoting wind energy, and we are pleased that Outland has chosen our 2.3MW wind turbines for their ORE 1 wind farm,” said Randy Zwirn, president and CEO of Siemens Power Generation, Inc. “The growing energy demand in the U.S. requires a mix of diverse electricity generating solutions and this wind farm will contribute to Iowa’s clean energy needs.”
