Sinovel Offshore Technology Centre Approved

Wind turbine company Sinovel has announced that China’s National Energy Administration has formally approved its development of a National Offshore Wind Power Technology and Equipment R&D Center.

Constructed by Sinovel, the Center, the only one of its kind at the national level in China, studies offshore wind power technology and equipment, and aims to develop cutting-edge technology.

Announcing the decision, Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council said that the 16 national energy R&D (experimental) centers that had been approved, involving nuclear power, wind power, efficient generation and transmission as well as equipment materials and energy resources in key industries and sectors, were of great significance in establishing China’s energy and technology support system, meeting national and strategic needs for innovative energy structure optimization and upgrading and satisfying market demand for energy technology and equipment.
