The Funding Ocean Renewable Energy through Strategic European Action (FORESEA) program awarded a “Recommendation for support” to 10 ocean energy technology developers.
According to a press release, the support “will help commercialise these technologies by providing free access to open-sea test centres.”
The FORESEA call for applications opened on July 27 and closed on Sept. 21. Applications were assessed and recommendations awarded to 10 developers. Final confirmation of support will be granted to developers upon contract with the relevant test center. The companies are:

- GEPS Techno
- Laminaria
- Mako Turbines
- Nautricity
- Pytheas Technology
- QED Naval
- Seacurrent
- Zyba
FORESEA is an €11 million (US$12.1 million) project that helps bring offshore renewable energy technologies to market by providing free access through tailored support packages to a network of test centers: the European Marine Energy Centre in the UK, SEM-REV in France, SmartBay in Ireland and Stichting Tidal Testing Centre in the Netherlands. Access is awarded through a series of competitive calls for application. It is financed by Interreg Europe.
