California, home to huge wind farms and a progressive attitude toward Renewable Energy, could be ripe for much more clean power and would benefit in more ways than just a cleaner environment. Jobs, lots of them, would be one result of turning away from the dark side of fossil fuels. From the story, “The report states that if the state increased its usage of renewable energy to 20%, it would mean creation statewide of 28,000 yearlong construction jobs and 3,000 permanent operating jobs. The report says that the equivalent amount of new natural-gas-fired power would generate only one-fourth as much employment statewide.” I like that math.
