North Sea Countries Look Offshore for Wind Power

2002-03-25 [] Environment ministers from countries bordering the North Sea, meeting in Bergen, Norway, decided to increase the development of Renewable Energy, through the use of offshore wind farms. The ministers said that offshore wind farms must perform a vital role in tackling the problem of global climate change. The governments agreed to act to exploit wind power ‘to the greatest extent’ in accordance with the Kyoto agreement.
