Nordex Wins Three French Wind Contracts

July 25, 2003[]Nordex has been awarded the contract for the development and turnkey construction of three wind farms for French utility REVe (Régie d´électricité de Vendée). The project is be completed in the Département Vendée. Nordex submitted a bid for a total of 26 turbines with a nominal output of 55 MW for a total price of approximately EUR 57 million (US$65 million) including farm development. The company will begin construction at the end of this year in conjunction with its French partner Alternative Technologique (ALTECH), with whom it has previously collaborated on the Bouin wind farm. The planning contract also includes the performance of an environmental compatibility audit as well as commercial viability and technical studies. The companies expect the construction permit to be issued in 2004. The following turbines types are to be deployed in the three new projects: N80/2,500 kW, N90/2,300 kW and N60/1,300 kW.
