Nordex Reports Sharp Sales Increases of Wind Turbines

2002-02-25 [SolarAccess.com] Hamburg, Germany-based wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has reported a sharp increase in sales within the German market with revenues up by 39 percent. The company said it installed nearly twice as many turbines in 2001 over the previous year installing systems of 277 MW compared to 147 MW. The company specializes in large wind turbines and Nordex says for the first quarter of this year it has orders worth •171million (US$149 million). Foreign sales make up half of orders with 25 turbines ordered by Norwegian utilities and by oil companies for use in Dutch refineries.
