NaiKun Project Moves Forward with Environmental Assessment Process

Vancouver, British Columbia [] NaiKun Wind Group Inc. has achieved a step forward in the development of the proposed offshore wind project by obtaining a Section 11 order from the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) that defines the terms and procedures for conducting the required environmental assessment process. NaiKun Wind Development has also filed an updated project description and Terms of Reference with the EAO. The revisions include the addition of the HaidaLink concept to the project scope, updated transmission route options and confirmation of construction start in 2009, with a commercial operation date in 2010.The HaidaLink proposal, jointly developed with the Haida Nation and NaiKun, will complete interconnection between Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) and the mainland electricity grid.
