Mitsubishi, EDF EN sign deal on four French wind farms

Renewable energy company EDF Energies Nouvelles, a unit of French utility EDF signed a deal with Diamond Generating Europe, part of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp., for the construction of four wind farms in France with a total capacity of 72 MW. No financial details were disclosed.

The two companies will set up a 50/50 joint venture company that will manage the wind energy projects.

EDF EN will supervise the construction of the farms in the northern departments of Aisne, Nord and Pas-de-Calais and will provide asset management services after the launch of the facilities in 2014.
