Mining Exploration Company Wants to Mine the Wind

A mining and exploration company in Canada wants to drop its current business activities and concentrate on the market for wind energy.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CA, 2001-10-10 [SolarAccess.com] Minera Cortez Resources Ltd. has terminated its concessions in Mexico, abandoned its interest in another company and is not active as a resource exploration company. It is currently applying to stock regulators and will seek shareholder approval for a change of business from a natural resource exploration company to a wind energy electrical generation company, to be called the Western Wind Energy Corporation. The change requires sponsorship from a member brokerage firm and requires supporting documentation with respect to the business activity effecting such a change of business. In this regard, Minera has prepared a confidential business plan and an independent evaluation addressing the soundness of the business plan and the reasonableness of the share issuance for wind assets. It is completing final documentation and has issued an Offering Memorandum for the provinces of BC and Ontario.
