October 24, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] On Wednesday, October 29, 2003, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting a public information meeting on the status of the Cape Wind Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). During this meeting, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will discuss its alternatives screening and the alternatives selected for further review in the DEIS being prepared in response to Cape Wind’s permit application. The Cape Wind project is a proposed 420 MW offshore wind farm which could have the potential to provide three-quarters of the electricity used on Cape Cod and the Islands of Massachusetts. The meeting will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon and will be at the Sea Crest Resort and Conference Center, 350 Quaker Road, North Falmouth, Massachusetts. Attending the meeting will be Federal, state and local agencies, stakeholders in the windfarm project and the general public.
