Leadership in Renewable Energy Honored

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] PECO WIND and Community Energy received honors from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the DOE and the Center for Resource Solutions with a Supplier Award recognizing their success in marketing and encouraging participation in green power programs. Among the top 10 utility green energy programs in the country, PECO WIND, the first wind energy product offered by a utility in Pennsylvania, is supplied by a wind power facility near the Poconos. More than 19,000 local households have chosen to purchase PECO WIND, the environmental benefit of which is the same as planting about 4.6 million trees or not driving more than 58 million miles. Said to offer 100 percent emission-free energy with no fuel risks, PECO WIND is offered to residential customers in 100-kWh blocks for a monthly fee of about $2.50 per block. PECO WIND also is available to business customers.
