Airtricity Says Its Electricity Is Cheaper Than Existing Irish Supplier

Airtricity, the 100% renewable energy supply company, has launched a media campaign aimed at customer acquisition, offering renewable energy at a lower cost than existing suppliers.

Now part of Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), Airtricity says it offers a 13% saving on electricity rates offered by the incumbent supply company, ESB.

The company says it electricity rates are the cheapest standalone rates in the Republic of Ireland and, unlike other competitors, are available to all consumers in the country. Airtricity now has a current total customer base of almost 70,000 and recently announced that it is creating 200 jobs in the Irish market to support the development of its electricity supply business. The new positions encompass sales, customer support, billing and support services.

“With 100% of our generation from renewable sources, Airtricity’s electricity supply is the greenest in the market and contributes significantly to reducing every customer’s carbon footprint, so switching to Airtricity is not just energy made cheaper, but energy made better,” said Kevin Greenhorn, managing director, Airtricity Supply. “We fully anticipate that more jobs will be created by Airtricity as we increase our customer base.”
