India, Germany Continue RE Cooperation

June 26, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] In his remarks at the World Council on Renewable Energy regarding the excellent but further developable economic relations between India and Germany, Chancellor Gerhard Schröder drew the attention especially to the trade of Renewable Energy Technologies and highlighted the importance of the Indian market for the German Renewable Energy Technology industry, in particular in the field of wind power. Germany wants to keep its leading role in Renewable Energy development initiatives. Prime Minister Vajpayee – who was accompanied by Rakesh Bakshi, Indian member of the WCRE Chairmen Committee – also referred to existing synergies in the promotion of Renewable Energy but indicated that they have not yet been fully exploited. He continued that India is very much interested in German investments in Renewable Energy and infrastructure projects.
