New Orleans, Louisiana [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] GE Energy will provide solar modules to Iberdrola Ingenieia y Construccion for projects that will total 11.6 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity. Iberdrola Ingenieia y Construccion, plans to install the GE modules in ground-mounted arrays for several projects around the Extremadura Autonomous community of western Spain.
“As the global solar industry continues to grow, we are pleased to be partnering with Iberdrola Ingenieía y Construcción to help increase solar installations in Spain. This contract places us in a strong position within the Iberian Peninsula’s solar market,” said Victor Abate, vice president of renewables, GE Energy. “We also are poised to help support the growth of the solar industry throughout Europe.”
GE Energy has also received a contract of approximately $650 million to provide 333 wind turbines to Noble Environmental Power for new and expansion projects in New York and Texas that will add nearly 500 MW of wind power capacity to the U.S. renewable energy supply.
