Gamesa Wins US$300 M Order for 132 Wind Turbines

Madrid, Spain [AFX News Limited] Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologia SA said its US arm Gamesa Wind US LLC has won a 300 mln usd order from Shell Windenergy to supply 132 wind turbines. In a statement, Gamesa said the total capacity of the turbines will be 264 MW and they will be ready for Shell Windenergy in 2007. The Basque engineering company will be responsible for the supply, installation and operation of the turbines, as well as providing a five-year maintenance guarantee. Work on the turbines is due to begin in the third quarter of this year.
