FPL Announces Wind Energy Plans in Texas

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The Callahan Divide sounds like the site of a legendary Texas showdown, but it’s actually the site of FPL Energy’s latest venture into wind energy. The 114 MW Callahan Divide Wind Energy Center will be located in Taylor County, Texas, and should go on-line during the first financial quarter of 2005. This is the second wind farm project for the company in 2004, and they will use 76, 1.5 MW turbines spread over a 6,000-acre site. The Callahan Divide project is FPL Energy’s second announced wind project in 2004. The company previously announced the 106.5 MW Weatherford Wind Energy Center in Oklahoma.
