First MMS Report Addresses Renewable Energy Projects Offshore

Washington, DC [CapeCodToday] Draft guidelines for the siting and management of offshore renewable energy installations were released [March 16] by the Minerals Management Service (MMS) of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Release of the “Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement for Alternative Energy Development and Production and Alternate Use of Facilities on the Outer Continental Shelf” (DPEIS) came early this afternoon from Argonne National Laboratory, a federal energy research and development agency assisting MMS in the preparation of the document. Cape Wind, Long Island report to come around May first.
