Fall Forum on Diversifying Generation Portfolio with RE

The Center for Business Intelligence (CBI) will host a Fall Forum, “Diversifying Your Generation Portfolio with Renewable Energy,” November 7-8, 2002, in Oakland, California.

Woburn, Massachusetts -September 11, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] Renewable Energies such as wind and solar are growing faster than conventional energy – approximately 25 percent annually throughout much of the last decade. In 2001, the installed U.S. wind power capacity jumped by more than 60 percent. Almost 1,700 MW of new wind capacity were brought online in the United States in one year, according to the American Wind Energy Association. CBI’s May 2002 Renewable Energy event sold out with over 100 attendees. The Fall Forum will provide an opportunity to network with senior executives in the Renewable Energy sector and to capitalize on the market experience of top industry leaders. Markets, policies, incentives, investment costs, financing, economics and technologies for Wind, Solar and Biomass will be discussed while key policy drivers, speak about tax credits and renewable portfolio standards. Environmental guidelines and incentives to spur Renewable Energy projects will also be discussed as will financing for a utility-scale project. Plus, examine the prospects for forming superior generation products from renewable/gas hybrids. Highlights include six outstanding case studies from GE Equity, Xcel Energy, BP Solar, Global Solar Energy, Blue Ridge Resource Conservation & Development Council and Cinergy Solutions. Two pre-conference workshops are also offered on Thursday, November 7: Financing Wind Power Projects or Linking Renewable and Natural Gas Generation in Distributed Energy Markets.
