California, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Eurus Energy America Corporation has announced the start of its new solar initiative and the formation of a solar development team. Eurus said that it will focus on the development of large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects throughout the United States with a particular focus on the West.
Worldwide, the Japan-based Eurus Energy Group has more than 1,600 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy generating projects in operation and recently completed a 1-MW PV project in South Korea.
“The South Korean solar project was our first non-wind project and we are keen to leverage off that accomplishment. America, especially the southwest region, is blessed with abundant solar energy resources. With our new solar initiative, we are confident in achieving our goal of adding more [megawatts] of renewable energy to our existing portfolio of more than 500 MW in North America,” said Mark Anderson, president & CEO of Eurus Energy America Corporation.
Eurus’s solar development team includes Dennis Scullion, who has worked to develop more than 1,000 MW of renewable energy, Roger Scullion, an expert in project siting and land acquisition and David Tomlinson who works in environmental permitting.
